Why ‘Our Stone Pile’?

God did an awesome thing and rescued a helpless people from oppression in Egypt through miraculous works, and gave them a land to settle that was previously occupied by numerous violent tribes of larger people groups. When they entered this land through God’s miraculous parting of the Jordan river, they left a pile of stones at the place where they crossed. God told them, “In the future, when your children ask, ‘What do these stones mean?’ tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever”. They left a pile of stones there as a message to their people and their children that God had done awesome things for them and before their eyes, and that His presence was with them. This blog is our pile of stones- our memorial to each other and the generations to come of what God has done and His presence with us. Let’s make it a mountain!

Why testimonies?

We are living, breathing memorials of Christ’s awesome works in the world today. We have in the Scripture loads of testimonies that people passed on verbally and were collected and recorded for future generations. These stir our faith and cause us to expect more. Our generation can do the same. God is not doing any less awesome works today.

No testimony is too insignificant.

Stop now and think about some things you have seen God do recently in your own life. In someone else’s life. Last year. Five years ago. Get yourself in a habit of remembering these things and they will inevitably overflow into conversations with others, and maybe even onto this blog!

How do I contribute?

To contribute, please fill out this form on our website and it will be posted on the blog. Also, feel free to comment on other testimonies with similar testimonies of your own.
